Matching Mickey & Minnie

July is about to be over so....needed to share a little Christmas in July spread.

It's A Bird... Superhero Projects

Looking for a hero?  Look no further this week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are finding superheroes all over with our Super Hero Challenge.
I have been playing around a lot with print and cut and for this challenge I selected a print and cut hero- Superman. I find some characters just look better (when smaller) when I print them because of all the small pieces from cutting.
I think he looks pretty great from the printer after I flattened the image. I cut all the other layers and words directly with my Cricut.
I made sure that I popped Superman up to stick out and added some stars on the embossed backing. I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- DC Comics Cricut Cartridge - Superman, words
- Smiley Cards Cricut Cartridge -  oval card
- The Paper Studio - stars embossing folder.

Because You Are 3

This week our host at Bitten By the Bug 2 is celebrating a birthday so we are making birthday projects.
That is great for me because my beautiful niece turned 3 last week and she was in town a little bit ago I was able to give her her gift in person.

I love die cuts, but I love that I now have the option to print out layered images that I have flattened with all the layers already together. Thank you Cricut for doing this! For this bag I used a mix of print and cut and traditional cuts.  I also played with the pattern fill option in Cricut Design Space. Never done this well..

1. Select the image you want to fill with a pattern (the back layer of this mat here).

2. Make the image a print image.

3. Once the image is a print image you will have a pattern option in the color area.  Go and find the one you want to use (You can upload your own even)!  That is it.  Super easy.

Here are all the pieces before I put everything together. The white layer was just cut no printing.
I put it all together with some pop up foam so it all stuck out a little more. and my niece loved this fun giraffe.

Hope you can join our birthday celebrations this week at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Supplies:
- Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge - 3 giraffe flattened, balloons flattened
- The First Few Years Cricut Cartridge - photo frame
- Lori's Garden- pattern fill on backing layer.

Chef Mickey's

One of our favorite places to eat when we visit Walt Disney World is Chef Mickey's. We try to go there each time we visit.  For our upcoming trip our whole family will get to join us with Chef's Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Donald.
We love the character interactions and they have a pretty good buffet (lots of Mickey shaped foods and desserts).
For this page I used the SNAP Studios pocket page that features a 4x12 opening at the top. I layered several cards and die cuts along with the postcard we got from the restaurant to create my title pocket.
I also added some smaller pieces to other areas like this journaling card. What a fun meal and a fun page of memories.

Craft Caddy

Happy Tuesday all.  It is time for a fun challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas and this week we are going 3D. We want to see those fun 3D projects you all are so great at creating.
I was lucky to get a chance to play with this fun stationery caddy from our challenge sponsor The Cutting Cafe. The instructions were so easy to follow with measurements for my Cricut.
The holder is a bunch of mini boxes that you put together and sit inside a larger base.  I elected to make my back boxes (There is a smaller box inside the larger back box) permanent attaching them to the back and base. I left the two front boxes loose.
Once I had the boxes together and secure I added some additional cuts to decorate my caddy. I put a few of my crafty tools and glues inside to have on my desk. here is what it looks like empty.
Such a fun project and thanks again to The Cutting Cafe for allowing me to play with this file. I hope you will be able to play along with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas and our 3D challenge.

Supplies:
- The Cutting Cafe - Stationery Caddy
- The First few Years Cricut Cartridge - Tag on front
- Wall Decor and More Cricut Cartridge - create

Hug & Kiss Around the World

Happy Monday everyone. It is time for a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and this week I am hosting.  I decided summer was a great time to travel the globe and see the world so I selected the theme of Around the World/Traveling. Show us your projects featuring a travel theme.
I took the theme very seriously and am sharing a page from our journey around the world - In Epcot at Disney World.
We spent a wonderful evening walking around the world showcase taking photos of us in hugs and kisses in each pavilion.
I started this layout with some great Project Life cards used them not just for the filler pockets but also to cut some of my cuts for the project.
I also used some print and cut banners to label the different countries we were in as well as for my title card.

We had a wonderful night and it fit so great with my theme this week. I hope you come join us and share your travel themed projects with us at Bitten By the Bug 2

No Cricut Thursday - Space Mountain

Happy Thursday to you. Here is something I have not done in awhile...NO CRICUT THURSDAY!! - Today I am sharing a project with no die cuts at all. Sometimes I forget I can create without the use of my amazing machines.
Space Mountain has become a favorite ride for my daughter at Walt Disney World. She was super scared the first time, but immediately asked to go again so we ended up  riding it 3 times during our holiday trip.

I needed a page to show off the fun ride photos from each try and these fun overlays for cards were a perfect fit.  I just had to share how fun these are over both photos and other cards.

Have a fun fun day. For more Disney magic in your next trip talk to Erik at Destination Orlando Etc.

Picnic Time with Die Cuttin' Divas

The weather has been just right to be outside and maybe even have a picnic with friends and family. This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are all about picnics and ants (lets's hope ants are only part of your projects and not your picnics.)
For my card I really wanted to use the patterns I have in Cricut Design space.  I used to play with these on my Imagine machine, but now I can add them to cuts on everything I create so I went looking for a perfect picnic blanket.
I just added the pattern to an oval before cutting. I also print and cut the slice of watermelon. All these fun pieces came together for my little picnic card. I hope you are enjoying outside time as well as crafting time this week and maybe join us at DCD for our picnic & ants challenge.

Beach Life with Bitten By the Bug 2

Welcome to another challenge with Bitten by the Bug 2. This week our host wanted to (and hopefully is) headed to the beach. We want to see you beach or pool themed projects.  I am really enjoying getting my scrapbook up to date this summer so I created this title card for a beach trip of ours.
We got to visit Vero Beach for a little sand play during a visit to Florida.
I knew these photos would work great form my project this week but needed a little more inspiration so I selected a sketch to work with as well.
I used Design Space to play with my images and see how it wold work with the sketch and was pleased - did not end up cutting off the waves because I loved how they stretched into the other picture.
The simple touches like the brad that looks like it is sandy and the footprints as those little bubbles in the sketch really worked out in the overall. Thanks for stopping by my day at the beach. I hope you an join us at Bitten By the Bug 2 this week. Enjoy!

I am also going to add this to the 100th Challenge at Cut it Up - Anything Goes.

5 From Aladdin

My Disney pages seem to be never ending, but I am lucky to have gone on some great trips in the past few years. This fun page is from our one day visit for the Halloween party in 2014.  On this trip we got to meet 5 different characters from Aladdin.
I wanted a simple page for these fun photos and I found another fun sketch to play along with at PDE Linky Party
I cute and layered these great patterned cards from the Project life Coral Edition and than add my cuts and journaling areas to the overall layout. It was such a fun night.
I am in love with sketches once again having payed with 4 this week. I hope you are getting a chance to join in some fun challenges as well.

Makeover

I am having fun playing with sketches this week and I found a fun one to play along with that worked just right for a little makeover.
We have lived in our house for over 10 years, but it took over 8 to decide to paint the living room and once we decided it took a year to pick the color and get it done.
Lucky for me my Mom and Dad did the hard work of painting it, along with my daughter. I just took photos, shopped for fabric for the curtains and get to enjoy the color each day now.
For this fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches the goal is to keep it simple so I did my best to to just put the basics on my title card.
I needed some paint on my brush to drip off so I used some sparkle to get the look I wanted. Another page completed and another fun sketch challenge joined. Have a great weekend.

Supplies:
- Project Life Aqua Edition cards
- Cafe Rojo font for banner
- Dinosaur Tracks Cricut Cartridge - paint brush

Frozen Visit

Okay we have all been there (well those of us who love Disney have been there) - waiting in long lines, autograph book in tow, to meet that one character or characters your little one (okay you) wanted to meet at Disney parks. For us this happened in December of 2013 when the Frozen craze had just begun.
We had to meet the sisters and the only place to do that, at the time, was in Epcot. They started their meet and greet at 11 in the morning, but we were in line right after we ate breakfast at 8:45. Yup over 2 hours we waited, but in the end we got great memories (from in line and with the characters).
For this title card I used an adorable print and cut Olaf to add him to the group. I also had some fun with Color Shine and Color Magic papers to create the backing cards.
I love playing with these sprays and need to remember to use them more often as they create a great look.
I added a few other fun touches to this title card with a little embossing (snowflakes of course) and some character signatures that I added to my banner cuts. The whole card was also created using this fun sketch from this week's Mojo Monday and I can not wait to join the link up!!.
We have been lucky to meet with the sister's again, but they now meet by themselves instead of together so we are happy we had this chance - even with the wait.

If you are thinking about a Disney trip please think of my husband who is an authorized Disney vacation planner. He'll help you meet Anna & Elsa in there new location in the Norway pavilion at Epcot. Click HERE to visit his Facebook page and ask him other questions.

Friend Bear for July Sketch with DCD

Good day all. Hope you enjoyed some 4th of July fireworks and now get some time to create with us at Die Cuttin' Divas.  It is the first Tuesday of the month so it is time for a great sketch challenge.
I found this cute bear cut in all my files of svgs and thought it would be fun to play with her for this month's sketch.
This cute bear  cut out really well on my Cricut once I uploaded her. I added the cut a few times and used the hide contour feature to change the colors on the pieces so I could cut them. here is my cute fuzzy bear.
I decided she needed a little bling so I added a flower with a fun brad to match the dress "fabric" I selected.
I was not sure what I wanted to say for the sentiment so I looked at my sticker collection (which recently got a lot smaller after a rainstorm mess and giant purge) and found these. I select a just right set of sayings and added a little more bling to complete the sketch.

Hope you get a chance to play along with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- KaDoodle Bug Designs - bear
- DCWV Sunday Afternoon paper
