Happy Birthday with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Birthday!! (It must be someone's birthday today so I am taking a chance!) This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are celebrating birthdays so we want to see you birthday projects.
I created this fun Project Life page featuring my Dad's birthday from 2014 - the last year of his 60s.
I layered a few Project Life cards and cut the bows for the packages from some others (love that they give you so many cards that I can play like this- especially as I have so many core kits).
I also cut some layers to put on top of this photo of my dad and daughter. Just so many options and I am getting pages done super fast this summer (maybe I will get caught up by the end of summer???HA!! I can try).  Hope you get a chance to create some birthday magic this week with us at Die Cuttin' Divas. Have a great one.

Supplies:
- Project Life Azure Edition cards
- Celebrations Cricut Cartridge - presents
- Creative Everyday Cards Cricut Cartridge - happy birthday

4th of July Star

It is time to start thinking about the 4th of July.  In one week we will celebrate the birth of the USA so this week our host at Bitten By the Bug 2 wants to see your projects featuring patriotic stars!
I love how relaxed the 4th has become with my family.  We east, hang with family and always enjoy a great fireworks show! 2014 was no different.
I made a simple title card using some base colors with the addition of some pattern cuts made from Project Life cards.
I added some extra stars around the page to tie it all together. I hope you have a wonderful week gearing up for the upcoming weekend. Hopefully you get a chance to play along with us.

Supplies:
- Days and Dates Cricut Cartridge - July and 4 cuts
- Design Space - star cuts
- Project Life Azure Editions cards for cute and journaling.

Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World

I am getting so much done in our Disney album now that summer is here and I have more time on my hands to work in the craft room.
Today I wanted to share this page featuring our amazing hotel, Wilderness Lodge. The whole cabin feel with holiday decorations all over was just right to make you feel like winter while enjoying Florida weather.
This pocket page is made by SNAP! Studios and has this cool 4x12 top pocket.  I love that you can layer things or create one longer strip to make a fun title for your page. I found a PNG image of the hotel logo to put on my page and it cut so easy.
We had such an amazing holiday trip to Disney. I know  some thought we were a little crazy for going at Christmas but it was so special and the memories will last a lifetime.
If you or someone you know if thinking about a Disney trip (Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise or Adventures by Disney) considering speaking and booking with Erik (my husband). Essentially his services are free as the prices you see on the Disney website include commission. You Brighten My Day with Die Cuttin' Divas

Good day to all. Summer is here and the sun is out and shining (mostly) so this week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are creating projects featuring sunglasses.
I started this card by gathering my supplies. I was not sure what  colors I wanted to work with so I went looking at my washi tapes to get inspired. In the end I switched gears a little but it is nice to have a plan in mind sometimes.
Once I had a color scheme I found my cut cut - what goes better with sunglasses but flipflops? I switched out my original washi tape for this glitter gold one as it reminded me of the sand on the beach.
A little glossy for those lens and some glitter for the flipflops and it all came together.  I hope you get some time to create with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge - sunglasses & flipflop cut
- Art Deco Cricut Cartridge - back shape
- Glossy Accents - for lenses
- Pink By Design Summer Vacation stamp set
- Stickles - Yellow
- Recollections glitter pack of washi tapes

Art Show Art Show

Good day and welcome to another Monday with Bitten by the Bug 2.  This week our  host was thinking about the stars - your astrological ones.  If you were born between May 21 - June 21 (like I was) you are a Gemini and that is associated with twins or 2 of something. This week we want  to see your projects featuring 2 of something.
I am working on my daughter's school album and this page is from the first grade art show they had at school.  When looking at my photos I knew this would be a great page to add 2 of something.
I have been using Design Space to layout of  pages more and more. I find that I can get the image in my head better this way and it makes putting my pages together much faster in the end. It was easy to see where my two artist palettes and brushes would go this way.
Once I had everything designed I printed out my title in Word (can not print and cut the size I needed). This took a little measuring & color play to get it just right.
I cut  out my images and finished them off with some glossy accents to make the paint look more real. Another layout completed.

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week at Bitten By the Bug 2 and our 2 of something challenge.

Iron Man Dad

It is a day for celebrating Dads of all kinds. My father-in-law always gets joy out of my cards and I try  to make him some fun ones as they match his personality well.  Here is this year's fun card.
Just a fun time with some print and cut and a just right embossing folder.
I knew I needed just a little something extra with all the simple print and cut. The embossing and glue dots made it all pop. Thanks Pinterest for the idea! Have a wodnerful day all.

Dance Album Cover

Hello. You might have noticed, if you are a regular visitor to my page, that my daughter is a dancer. A year ago she was ready to audition and join the competing team at her studio and what a ride it has been.
Rather than try and put all those dance photos into our regular albums I decided to create a special one just for dance. The name of her studio is Dreams Dance Academy so I selected "Dreams" for the cover.
I asked around and heard vinyl sticks pretty good to a Project Life album so  I bought this one by Heidi Swapp to use. I played around until a font I wanted and welded it together. I have used vinyl quite a bit, but never with transfer paper as it is usually smaller pieces.
It was so sticky, but in the end I got the image down onto the album and I am pleased with the result. My daughter was super pleased with the results - Now I just need to fill it with pages and pictures!!

I have added a label to my collection to showcase projects I have made or will be making for dance. Please feel free to click on it is looking for dance inspiration.

Supplies:
- Cricut Glitter Vinyl
- Wall Decor and More Cricut Cartridge - dancer
- Smoothie Shoppe font

A Father...

This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are honoring Dad as Father's Day is around the corner. I always have trouble coming up with ideas for dad cards until i thought of light houses.
My dad loves lighthouses so I went looking for card ideas and found this wonderful sentiment and built my card around it. I used print and cut to put the design on the white paper and added my scene around it.
Here is the saying close up. I thought it was a great saying about what a father really does.  I hope you can join us this week at DCD for our Father's Day challenge.

Can also be linked up to some other fun challenges this week:

Father's Day Labeled

Happy Monday everyone. Today at Bitten By the Bug 2 we are gearing up for Father's Day and sharing masculine projects to fit the day. I have to admit my project is not the most masculine, but it features the great dads in my life and how I showcased some photos for a previous Father's Day.
I started by selecting some cards for my empty spaces and went looking for some simple cuts to add to the page. As I often find what I started with is not what I ended with.

I cut my shapes and title and added them to the proper cards before doing a little journaling to finish off the page.

I am so happy to be able to be with these 3 great Dads on Father's Day and hope you get to think of or be with yours as well. I hope you can join in the challenge with us.

- Project Life - Honey Edition cards (including solid)
- Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge - heart
- The First few Years Cricut Cartridge - round tags

ARRRRRR!!!!

Awhile ago I made this card and never got a chance to take a photo and share it with you...opps. Today while cleaning I found it and looked for it on my blog to check for  sure ad no it was not there so here it is for you.
I love Inside Out and the face on this image clearly is showing an ARRRR!! moment.
I got the image of Anger from this cube (laid out flat here) in some sort of kids meal. It came with another one so you could change the front and show what emotion you were feeling. My daughter put it together and gave to to me saying "I bet you could make something with this!!" Gosh, I love that kid.

Have a wonderful day.

Supplies:
- Charles embossing folder
- Smiley Cards Cricut Cartridge - Arrr bubble

June Sketch Fun with Die Cuttin' Divas

I am so happy to be rejoining the wonderful design team at Die Cuttin' Divas after a short break to end the school year. It is the first Tuesday of June and that means a wonderful new sketch to play with.
This weekend was my daughter's annual dance recital. It has been such a filled year of dance for her as she joined the team and competed, but this final show showcased all the hard work of the season as well as some additional dances to showcase technique.
The great sketch from Carson's Creations was just right for creating a fun card to showcase the theme "Lights, Camera, Dreams!"
I hope you get to join us this week and play with this fun sketch.

Supplies:
- Movie Night Cricut Images - clapboard
- Shall We Dance Cricut Cartridge - dancer
- Creative Cards Cricut Cartridge - scalloped rectangle trimmed

Garden Grill

Oh to be free to be in my craft room once again. I had such a busy end of the school year that I needed to stay away form crafting in order to get all the work finished up. Now I can enjoy all the things summer has to offer.  This week at Bitten by the Bug 2 our host was thinking the same thing and how in the  summer she gets to garden.  Our challenge this week is to create projects featuring gardening.
I have been thinking about creating this fun page for quite some time and this weeks theme was aligned just right. One of our favorite dining experiences during our holiday trip  was our Christmas Eve dinner at Garden Grill in Epcot.
I started by creating my gardening Mickey Mouse. His body is from the Paper dolls Everyday cartridge and I replaced the head with Mickey's. I cut his clothes and tools from various Project Life cards.
For my journaling box, I layered 2 smaller Project Life cards on top of a 4x6 card I cut from some 12x12 coordinating paper. I added some small touches of gardening all over my page to get my final look.
This fun rotating restaurant and character meal was full of yummy food and I look forward to a trip back there on our upcoming trip. I hope you can join us this week at Bitten By the Bug 2.

- Mickey & Friends Cricut Cartridge - Mickey head and gloves
- A Walk in My Garden Cricut Cartridge - garden tools
