Leap of Faith

Leap Day comes once every 4 years so this week at Bitten By the Bug 2 I decided (as it is my week to host) that we needs to show our projects that featured leaping or jumping. Come play along with us this week.
I loved this runner cut from the All Sports cartridge and thought she would be fun to play with.  I took out the hurdle she was jumping and decided that I would rather not glue the small pecs of her eyes and lips so....
Print and cut to the rescue. I flattened the eyes, lips and body so I could just print them out. I cut the rest of her - hair, clothing and shoes to create the final look.
The sentiment felt right for the day and with the font from Jubilee it looked great.
I hope you will be able to join us this week as we celebrated the extra day on the calendar and leap for joy!!

Supplies:
Jubilee Cricut Cartridge - font
All Sports Cricut Cartridge - girl hurdler
Pinstripe embossing folder.

Just Like A Circus

All eyes are on the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas this week as we ask to see your carnival/circus projects. At the end of last's year's dance classes my daughter danced to "Circus" for her Jazz class and I figured it would be just right for this challenge.
The color scheme was easy when looking at her costume and finding this paper patterned like the costume was pure luck.

I planned the layout out in Cricut Design Space (something I fin helpful more and more) and cut out my carnival performers form the Carousel Cricut cartridge.
In the end I printed my title and cut it out to fit my page using Word because it was large and did not want to work with print and cut. The font was just right in my mind. Hope you will join us this week in our little circus at Die Cuttin' Divas!!

Supplies:
- Carousel Cricut Cartridge - performers

Margarita Time with Bitten By the Bug 2

You may not want to know this...but it is National Margarita Day!!! Break out the salsa and pour yourself a drink to celebrate with us at Bitten By the Bug 2!  This week we want to see your fiesta themed projects to help celebrate the day.
Doesn't this little cactus look happy to help you celebrate?  I thought so. All he needed was a margarita and he was ready for the fiesta to begin.
I wanted his little hat to stick up so I used some pop-up foam adhesive to get the look I wanted. A little touch of some glitter and the look was complete
As for my sentiment, I have a friend who is having a stressful time so I invited her for dinner and reminder her it will be okay!!  I hope all your lives are great and enjoyable and you get to join us this week in our fiesta theme.

Supplies:
- Create A Critter 2 - cactus
- free clip art margarita
- Buka Bird font for my sentiment
- Stickles - Candy Cane, Lime & Frosted Lace.

Just for Calvin

Tuesday means a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and we are kidding around. That is we are creating Kid Themed projects this week and we hope you will join in the fun with us. I created a special door sign for my co-worker's son, Calvin.
On February 1st this special guy had a kidney transplant. He had been living without kidneys most of his little life and now he has one of his daddy's and things are going great.  I was asked to make this sign for his door at the hospital so the nurses would know who is really was!!
I planned everything on my computer before cutting and made sure I knew what all of this special little guys favorite things were - Elmo & puppies!!

Thanks  for joining us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Supplies:
- Disney Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge - stars
- Create A Critter Cricut cartridge - puppy

Sweet Sounds with Bitten By the Bug 2

Happy Monday everyone. Did you know that today is National Gumdrop Day?  It so is and at Bitten By the Bug 2 we are celebrating with our challenge this week - we want you to use candy cuts on your projects.
I was very excited about this project because my daughter recently had a concert that was all about candy and sweets.  The Sweet Sounds concert featured some great music - "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and "Hot Chocolate" from the Polar Express were just 2 of the fun selections.  I made these cards for my daughter and her amazing music teacher.
These cards started out with some print and cut features. I combined the window from this bakery with the gumball machine and flattened the images to the white window cut so they would be in my windows -without all the little pieces to cut and glue.
The next step was cutting the card base (a little bit of welding needed there) and all the bakery pieces and the lettering for the "name" of the bakery. A little touch of a doorknob finished the outside look.
For the inside I did a little more print and cut and added a cute lollipop cut to finish it all off. I forgot to take a photo before I added my little note to my daughter.  It was such a fun night.
This is the outfit she wore - there were all supposed to where candy outfits so she went with chocolate covered cherries to match the skirt - that she made herself (more on that soon!!)  I hope you think it is sweet and get a chance to join us this week at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Supplies:
- Pop-up Neighborhood Cricut Cartridge - bakery
- Birthday Cake Cricut Cartridge - font above door
- Mickey & Friends Cricut Cartridge - lollipop inside
- Birthday Bash  Cricut Cartridge - cherry on chocolate cake
- Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge - gumball machine in window

Say it With Love & Die Cuttin' Divas

Good day to all and a Happy early Valentine's to you.  I love making Valentine projects so this week's theme at Die Cuttin' Divas -"Say it with Love" is just right for the upcoming holiday! I went very literal with the challenge and made sure you could see the "LOVE"
I love this fun cut with the different layers. I wanted it to be a little different form most Valentine colors so I went for this fun stack of paper I just got.
I love how these deep colors look on the card. I got everything cut easily and decided it needed something...so I went on an embossing binge...
It was fun to play with my different embossing folders and get this fun look on the card.
The final touch was to add on some of these silver stick-ons.  I used my heat tool to add them as they have adhesive on them already.  Love making my Valentine's each year.  This year I did not make them for my co-workers but i did make a bunch for the dance team - I will share those on Friday!!

Have a wodnerful day.  Hope you can join us at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Just A Note Cricut Cartridge - Love
- Cuttlebug 5x7 polka dot embossing folder
- Cuttlebug 5x7 Cross My heart embossing folder

A Valentine Heart to Share

Happy Monday to all. This week is leading up to a fun fun Valentine's so I am sure you will see lots of fun hearts and cupid projects all around...which I love making. This week our host at Bitten By the Bug 2 wants to see your Valentine Hearts!!!
I was not sure what I wanted to make for this one, but when I found this fun heart I got the idea for the total card right away. I love all the cutaways in this heart.
I cut it about 5 inches and embossed the backing layer so that I could have a mostly pink card with the base layers.

I made a simple little tag and placed it on with a ribbon. A cute and very pink card for my daughter is now all set for Sunday!!  Hopefully you are as well. Have a great one.  I have a few more Valentine's to share with you this week so stop back tomorrow and Friday!!

Supplies:
- Love Struck 2010 Cricut Cartridge - heart
- ZooBalloo Cricut Cartridge - tag
- Cuttlebug 5x7 polka dot embossing folder.
- Recollections stamp set - love stamp.

2. Leave a comment on each project and you will be entered

For my project I created a simple and fun Valentine tag. I created my project for Cindy on the Cut It Up! Team (But it got sent to me by mistake because I wrote the wrong address on the envelope...must have been tired when writing that out).
I started with the fun saying and of course that meant a pencil theme. Using some fun cuts and a little bit of welding I got my pencil to draw the heart and smile all at once.
This cute pencil is from the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge and the font on my lettering is called KG Always a Good Time. The little hearts I added and welded are from the Life's a Party Cricut cartridge.

Thanks for visiting and joining in on our hop.It has been s much fun joining in this fun day! Enjoy your day and have a sweet Valentine's day next weekend!

Your next stop is...  Leah

Turning 8 is Great (a sketch challenge with DCD)

Welcome one and all to a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.  The first Tuesday of the month means....a sketch challenge!!  I love sketches and lately I love using them to make cards for my pocket pages spreads.
I took a very wide and free approach to the sketch. staying away from the heart embellishments and not using an oval around my cake.
But.. when I gathered up cards for my Project Life spread  I knew I could create a fun display mixing my die-cuts and my cards.
See the cake design on the card? What if you create the layers of the card with other cards and make you die cut a cake so the candles go on top?  It totally blew me away when it got it to work just right and it was her 8th birthday so I covered up a few of the candles and - so happy with this.
The overall page turned out pretty good and I had a blast with the sketch. Hope you will too at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Project Life Fine & Dandy Edition - all cards
- A Child's Year Cricut cartridge - 8
- Stretch your Imagination Cricut cartridge - cake
