You Can Be Anything - Make it Girly Part 2

This week the challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is to Make it Girly. For a dancing household this was a great challenge. Especially with the dance recital being a few weeks ago.
My daughter was in two pieces at the recital. The first I shared on Tuesday at the start of the challenge. Today I want to share the cards I made for her lyrical dance group. I used the same Create a Friend images to make this card, but had to do a little more mix and matching to create this outfit.
Welded two dresses and cut off the sides to make this outfit.
I wanted the top of the ice skaters outfit, the bottom of the travelers dress, the hair from the baker, the headband of the soccer player and the body position of the dancer....wow that was a lot.  Oh yeah, I also wanted it to be the mirror image of the other dancer I had made before.
Once I got the outfits all together and on my dancers I was set. They needed a few extra touches (dancers need sparkle) and they were all set.
On the inside of both cards I place a message with the date and name of the song for remembering. I hope you will get a chance to make it girly this week and be part of the Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge.

Supplies:
- Create A Friend Cricut Cartridge - pieces from dancer, baker, skater, soccer player and traveler.
- Florals Embellished Cricut Cartridge - diamond shape on dress
- Stickles - Silver
- DCWV Lemon Flower Stack - silver printed paper
- Harrington Font on inside

Make it Girly with Die Cuttin' Divas

Welcome to a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week we were asked to "Make it Girly". In my house this is a simple thing as I have an almost 8-year-old little girl who is a pretty girly thing. A few weeks ago she had her Spring dance recital.
She was in two numbers. The first was with her ballet class. They danced to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella. It was so so sweet. I made a card for each girl in her class. I used Create a Friend images and combined them to make the little dancers.
I wanted the ice skaters skirt and hair but not the skates and I wanted the dances shoes, flower and body position. With Cricut Design Space you can make these things go together the way you want.
Once all my pieces were cut out I put my dancers together and got some card bases ready for them. I added the pretty flowered embossing before placing the dancers on top. On the inside there is a printed message with the title of the song and date.
Thanks so much for visiting today. I will be sharing the other projects I made for the recital later this week. What a girly week. Just right for the Make it Girly Challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Create a Friend Cricut Cartridge - images from dancer and skater
- Stickles - Baby Blue
- Cuttlebug embossing folder from Once Upon a Princess set

Hoppy Easter Gift Bags

This week at Fantabulous Cricut we asked you  to show us your Easter projects (or bunny themed). I thought I would share these quick gift bags I made last Saturday for the guest of our Easter celebration.
I wanted them to be quick and cute so I selected this fun "Hoppy Easter"cut from the Spring Holiday Cards cartridge.  For the ladies I added a cute frame cut as well. I used Design Space (the new Cricut Explore cutting center) to make sure the layers would all match up.
For the gentlemen I took off the fun edge (thought it was a little girly) and selected some fun patterns to cut out the same "Hoppy Easter" cut.
Simple gift bags for all the extra Easter candy in my house. Hope you can join us at Fantabulous Cricut this week and get some ideas to store for next Easter season.

Supplies
- Spring Holiday Cards Cricut Cartridge - Hoppy Easter card
- The First Few Years Cricut Cartridge - frame

Earth Day Recycling with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Earth Day Everyone!
This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are remembering Earth Day by using recycled materials on our projects. Instead of throwing something out try and reuse it on your projects this week. I found a bag leftover from a trip to Build A Bear and decided it was just what I needed to make this...
My cute jump rope bear got created with the Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Cartridge. I selected the cute dress that the German beer bear is wearing and worked from there to create my jumper.
Now here is where the great bag came into play. First I cut it apart and used the bag pieces on the base of my card (and inside as well).
Next - You need the perfect jump rope. For this card the bag handle worked out just right. When I first decided to use the bag I did not know I was creating a jump rope bear , but looking at the bag and thinking how I could reuse it gave me the idea.  Recycled fun.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to "upcycle" something into a new project with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

- Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Cartridge - German Beer Bear

Easter projects with Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #207 Easter or use a Bunny
Easter has just past but we are still celebrating at Fantabulous Cricut. This week make an Easter or bunny themed project. I made this card to send to my niece for Easter.
I wanted to have a lot of bright colors and fun patterns. I started by putting a base together with a touch of embossing.
Once I had the base ready i selected an image to put on the front and went with this sweet little egg hunter form A Child's Year. She was just right for this. (The cut comes as a boy as well in case you need that instead)
I put it all together with a bright ribbon bow and a simple Easter sentiment and was all set.  I hope you will join us this week at Fantabulous Cricut.

Up in the Air with a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Good day all.  I hope your week got off to a good start yesterday and that today you are ready to make it great with a new Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.
This week we are asking you to play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe board.  Create a project using 3 elements from a row, column or diagonal on our little crafty board. I went with the last column and worked my way down.
First off was making the shape. For this I headed into the Silhouette Studio and welded two hot air balloons together for my base.
Next I went looking for my 3 patterned papers (New Lucy Charm paper Pad by Dear Lizzy) and cut out the rest of my pieces.  While I was looking for the right patterns I found another piece of paper just right for the inside of my card.  I measured and cut the saying on the paper out to go inside.
I finished off my card or got it started as the sentiment goes with the inside saying and added a small piece of twine to tie it all together. I am in love with it and it will take a special event and person to make me part with it. Hopefully you will created something you enjoy as much with this week's Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge!!

Supplies:
- Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - 4th of July Balloon file
- Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Paper Pad by American Crafts (all papers)
- My Creative Time - Turn that Frown Upside Down stamp set

Pastel Colors Challenge With Die Cuttin' Divas

Welcome to a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. This week as we get closer and closer to Easter we decided to let our soft side show. Our soft color side that is. We are having a pastel color challenge. I started by finding some fun patterned papers to use for this one.
Once I have the right papers I placed them together to create a the back layer for the outside and inside of the card. I now some of my colors are a little on the bright side, but working with pastel is a big challenge for me...the white really softens it up right???
On the front I cut a simple image and added a small touch of Platinum Stickles to finish it off. On the inside I added a simple Thank you stamp.  I hope you will join us as we enjoy these lighter colors this week.

Supplies:
- French Manor Cricut Cartridge - fleur de lie
- Stickles - Platinum
- Pink By Design - Artisan Tags 2 stamp
- Making Memories Just Chillin' 8x8 paper stack - all patterns

Hello, Life

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with Fantabulous Cricut!

Challenge #205 Spring Cleaning
Create a project using a cartridge or cut you have never used before.
I just got the Suburbia Cartridge on a great sale a few weeks back so it was the perfect choice for this week's challenge. It really has some fun fun images on it that could be used in a variety of ways.
I started by created a base for my card using a large polka dot stamp to create a backing that would match this patterned paper (I have been using a lot of green that I pulled out during my St. Patty's projects!!)
I selected and cut my lady with her patterned apron and stamped the simple sentiment onto the tray she was holding. I also could not resist adding a string of pearls to her neck with a white gel pen.
I finished up the card by creating a open inside to add a note to later. I find that as my card collection grows I am sending more notes to people via snail mail as we sometimes call it.  It makes me feel so good to hear they enjoyed it...even if I hear that via Facebook.

Hope you will join us and create with an unused cart or image this week.

Get Caught In A Good Book

I am a teacher by day (lucky for me I am on Spring Break right now!) and often I get to create fun things to hang up at school using my craft room tools. My favorite thing to make for school is displays for the wall in our main entryway (Affectionately knows as "My Wall"). This year we have a huge reading push including a new Reading program our entire district is using K-8.  It has been going well and my principal wanted a wall to keep encouraging reading.
I went to my coworkers and got them to take pictures of themselves and their families reading. I wanted us to all show that we read at home as well. I placed all the photos inside the pages of some giant open books.
Once everyone had be placed onto the pages I created the title for my wall - It was too simple, but took me forever to figure out...
I used a basic paper cutter and cut various sizes of "books" Simple right?  I used some scrap paper to make a backing to stick them onto and than created a long black "book shelf" to cover the bottom. All that was needed was a title. Thanks to my Silhouette I had that done in a few minutes and was adding the words on. It got hung up about a week before the break and students are often asking/guessing whose kids are whose.I even had one kid ask if I wold take their picture reading and hang it on the wall - DONE!!!

Supplies:
- My Community Cricut Cartridge- books
- Bernard Condensed Font - cut on Silhouette Cameo

A Sketch Challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas - April Edition!!

Welcome to April everyone.  No fooling around today it is the first Tuesday of the month and that means a sketch challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas.
I thought this sketch was simple and sweet but I had a hard time picking my idea???
Once I flipped the sketch I was a little more clear on my idea and it all involved the Honey Chic Paper stack from DCWV. All the papers used (except the base) are form this stack)
I have a 3 week trial to Cricut Design Space (the operating system for the Cricut Explore) and have been trying to make projects with Cartridges I do not own so I got this flower off the Picturesque cartridge.
I used a piece of the trim form one of my papers to make my sentiment flag and added a simple stamp to it. On the inside I added a little more of the fun patterns and some solid for a later message.
I hope you are having a great First day of April and will play along with us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Supplies:
- Picturesque Cricut Cartridge - flower
- Carson's Creations Sketch
- Close to My Heart stamp
- Dew Drop Memento Ink - Lilac Posies
- DCWV Honey Chic paper stack
